Course Title: Venous DiseaseContact Hours: 2.7Course Description: This course will provide the learner a comprehensive overview of the etiology of venous disease, venous anatomy, risk factors, venous hypertension, varicose veins, thrombophlebitis and venous insufficiency, clinical presentation, diagnosis, medical, endovascular and surgical management. Course Objectives: Discuss venous anatomy
List the physiologic factors that influence venous return
Describe venous hypertension
Differentiate between varicose veins, superficial thrombophlebitis and chronic insufficiency and their treatment
Define deep vein thrombosis, describing incidence and symptoms
List the risk factors for venous thrombosis
Describe the medical and surgical treatment for venous disorders
