Contact Hours: 1.3 Course Description: This module includes a comprehensive explanation of common pathologies and congenital anomalies of the gastrointestinal system including gastroesphageal reflux and disease, necrotizing enterocolitis, malrotation and volvulus, congenital diaphragmatic hernia, and abdominal wall defects. Course Objectives:Describe the basic anatomy of the gastrointestinal system
Explain the physiology of digestion and the basic roles of the gastrointestinal organs
Differentiate normal and abnormal findings during a gastrointestinal assessment
Differentiate common pathologies and congenital anomalies of the gastrointestinal system This continuing nursing education activity was approved by the PA State Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation.
