Data Security, Archiving, and Working Offline in Outlook 2007
by Skillsoft
You can use the enhanced security features included in Microsoft Outlook 2007 to protect your e-mail and computer from malicious attacks that can arrive in the form of incoming e-mail messages. The program also provides you with tools used to archive and manage the size of your mailbox to ensure that you can locally store your e-mail messages for future reference. With Outlook 2007 you can choose to work offline and access your e-mail messages without connecting to a server, and then synchronize Outlook with the server at a more convenient time. You can also connect to the Exchange Server using Outlook Web Access (OWA) at times when you do not have access to the Outlook application. OWA provides you with many of the same features that Outlook 2007 offers, but through a browser interface. This course demonstrates how to configure the security settings, offline access, and synchronization settings for Outlook 2007. The course also shows you how to access Outlook from the Internet, and how to archive data and manage your data file sizes.Audience: Personnel at all levels of the enterprise; end users seeking competency in the advanced functionality of Microsoft Outlook 2007.Objectives: Setting Security Options in Outlook 2007 disable add-ins in a given scenario disable all macros except digitally signed ones in a given scenario add someone to the Trusted Publisher's list in a given scenarioUsing Digital Certificates in Outlook 2007 get a digital ID in a given scenario digitally sign an e-mail, given a scenario back up a digital ID in a given scenario use an encrypted e-mail messageArchiving Data and Managing the Mailbox Size in Outlook 2007 specify the frequency of AutoArchive in a given scenario Manually archive Outlook 2007 items in a given scenario set AutoArchive options for a specific folder in a given scenario clean up your mailbox in a given scenarioUsing Data Files in Outlook 2007 create a Personal Folders file in a given scenario change the data file where content is saved in a given scenario open a Personal Folders file in a given scenarioConfiguring Remote Connections in Outlook 2007 set up remote connections to Outlook in a given scenario access your e-mail via Outlook Web Access in a given scenarioWorking offline with Exchange configure a Cached Exchange mode setting in a given scenario set up a prompt to work offline in a given scenarioUsing Send/Receive Groups and Remote Mail create a Send/Receive group in a given scenario download the offline address book in a given scenario filter the items that are downloaded to your offline folders in a given scenario process Remote Mail headers in a given scenario Duration: 2.5 hours
