Contact Hours: 1.0 Course Description: This course provides an overview of what is meant by hazardous materials and the four elements of hazard communication: labeling, inventories, MSDS, and training. It will differentiate health hazards from physical hazards and review hazard communications, as well as the use of MSDS. Course Objectives:Describe the purpose of OSHA’s Hazard Communication Standard
Discuss the basic requirements of the Hazard Communication Standard
Differentiate health hazards from physical hazards
List the requirements of a written hazard communication program
Describe the requirements of hazard labels
Explain the role of MSDS or Material Safety Data Sheets This continuing nursing education activity was approved by the PA State Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation.
