Contact Hours: 0.7 Course Description: The Standard Precautions course is based on guidelines produced by The Laboratory Centre for Disease Control, Health Canada, and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control. This intends to cover the purpose, the practice, and the law as it relates to preventing the spread of disease. Course Objectives:Define standard precautions
Discuss the importance of standard precautions to protect patients and healthcare workers
List examples of engineering and workplace controls
Describe the appropriate use of PPE (Personal Protection Equipment) This continuing nursing education activity was approved by the PA State Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation. DISCLOSURES Criteria for successful completion includes a passing score of 70% on the post-test offered at the end of this course. A Certificate of Completion will be issued to all those who pass the post-test.
