Newborn Respiratory Assessment

Contact Hours: 1.8 Course Description: This module includes anatomy and physiology of the respiratory system as well as normal and abnormal findings following a respiratory assessment. It will also review accessory muscle use and potential causes for various adventitious lung sounds. Course Objectives:Describe the basic anatomy and physiology of the infant respiratory system
Describe the typical and atypical findings in the infant respiratory assessment
Differentiate the various types of accessory muscle use
Differentiate the following adventitious lung sounds: crackles or rales, wheezes, rhonchi, and stridor This continuing nursing education activity was approved by the PA State Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation.
